NOTICE!

                        You DO not have to be a veteran to buy a brick!

 Anyone, anywhere, may purchase a brick.

Bricks are laser engraved and are intended  to memorialize a veteran (or veterans), acknowledge active duty members and memorialize or acknowledge anyone!

Purchasing brick(s) also expresses your interest in supporting
Harrison VFW Post 9328 and Harrison American Legion Post 139
and assisting veterans, active duty personnel and their families everywhere!

Help VFW Post 9328 remain a viable Harrison, Maine asset and enable it to continue assisting veterans and active duty personnel and their families.

VFW Post 9328 also hosts Harrison's William I. Pembroke American Legion Post 139 whose members are also selling the bricks.

A brick or tile purchased will be placed in one of three areas (or buy three!):

(1.) The Post's flag pole/garden area is reserved for any veteran as well as any active duty member;

(2.) The walkway in front of the Post;

(3.) Or, if preferred, a brick may be placed in an area at the Town Library Veterans Memorial. Although the site was dedicated on May 28th, 2011, bricks may still be purchased and placed at this site.

The Post Walk of Honor Committee, comprised of members of both the VFW Post and its Ladies Auxiliary, worked diligently on this project.  The Committee  selected Moonbeam Laser Engraving of Levant, Maine to engrave the bricks for the project. The Post approved the Committee's selection, noting that Moonbeam uses bricks supplied by the Morin Brick Co. of Auburn, Maine. Morin is well known in Maine for making a quality product for many years.

The Post also approved the Committee's selection of Morin's "Whitaker Greer #30" clay brick. This is a beveled edge brick and is available in 4" x 8" and 8" x 8" sizes.

See the other links listed below for more details and views of sample bricks!

Contact any VFW Post 9328 or Ladies Auxiliary member or any AL Post 139 member OR print out the Order Form, fill it out and mail it to:

VFW Post 9328, PO Box 698, Harrison, ME 04040-0698

DON'T FORGET TO INCLUDE YOUR CHECK PAYABLE TO VFW POST 9328!

Since the Post hosts Harrison's American Legion Post 139, too, by buying or sponsoring a brick you are supporting its home!

The bricks are  laser engraved with "in memory of" information for  a veteran or veterans and "acknowledgment of" information for a member of the active duty military. Only veteran's and active duty bricks will be placed first around the flag pole area of the VFW Post. Businesses will be asked if they would like to participate by sponsoring a brick. When completed, the bricks will border a walkway that connects the flag pole area to the main entrance and probably on past the kitchen exit area. Walkway bricks will be in memory of anyone and will include more veteran's and active duty bricks after the flag pole area is filled.

Granite blocks donated by Ladies Auxiliary member MaryAnne "Muffett" Crowell  are also available for business sponsors at a corporate rate.  These blocks, once in place at Arlington National Cemetery, have been freshly sandblasted. A block may also be engraved. Blocks are available in two sizes: 12"  x 12" square; the other 12" high x 24" long.  These blocks will become part of the walkways mentioned in the previous paragraph.  If more information is desired about these blocks, please contact Muffett at 1-207-809-4605 or email info@vfwpost9328.org.
